Blue Sapphires are coloured by iron and is part of the Corundum family. Deriving from the Greek "sapphieros", sapphires are also found in shades of pink, yellow, orange, green, colourless and purple, as well as the rare Padparadsha or Lotus Flower orange pink sapphires.
